The two-day Staffing Industry Analyst’s Executive Forum held in London focussed on improving staffing and workforce solutions by using Blockchain, Robotics, and AI.
Summarizing the event, John Nurthen, Executive Director, Global Research at SIA, said,
Nurthen expressed hopes that the various sessions would have provided some clarity to staffing executives on a range of software solutions that are going to change the industry fundamentally.
David Rowan, founding Editor-in-chief of WIRED UK, presented a paper in which he showed how Blockchain could give employers access to potential employee’s full work history. Thus, employees will not be able to fudge their educational credentials or lie about working in reputed companies as all their educational records, work experience letters, recommendations, etc. will be recorded on a blockchain that will be accessible for all recruiters.
Rowan also talked about the impact of 3D printing and robotics on solutions for the staffing industry.
At last, a debate was held on whether new technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, 3D printing would eliminate 50% of all recruiting jobs by 2030. Participants argued about how significantly these technologies will affect jobs.
